The part I am having trouble with is editing and critiquing. It's not fun. I like my writing, but when I see all the things I have to do to make it better, it completely exhausts me.
When I take a break, and think about it all, editing is a part of writing. I love to write, and I'm not just going to stop when I get fed up or frustrated with my writing. Even though editing isn't something I like to do, I know it'll make my writing better, and maybe worthy of first place for that contest. So I'm going to write, and edit, and love it all.
Editing is like obstacles in life. If you stop at every one saying 'I can't do this' then you'll never finish the race. I'm trying to not be like that. I can overcome any obstacle that comes my way because I have God. He'll help me shape and edit my writing, and make it something beautiful, just like me.

*ugh* I feel the exact same way! Glad to know I'm not the only one, though. =)ReplyDelete
I love writing too, Shelley. But I agree that editing isn't that fun either. Hope you're having a blessed day!ReplyDelete
Editing, if I may say so, is a painful pleasure. Without editing, my writing would not be fit for a five-year-old to read; it helps me slow down and disciplines me. Great post! :)ReplyDelete
I don't like editing either. :( It's not a fun part of writing.ReplyDelete
I love your writing. Your heart shines through it. ☺☺☺ReplyDelete
Hey Shelley, thanks for following my blog! I'm following yours now, too. ;)ReplyDelete
I agree that editing is the hard part about writing, however I really enjoy it, which is why if I don't become an author I'm becoming an editor.ReplyDelete
x God bless
He does help you through it all. :) :) Your writing makes me smile. :)ReplyDelete
